Crystal Palace signs anew goalkeeper and another striker

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is the first name that springs to mind for lots of Crystal Palace fans when it comes to who they want to see the club sign this week.

The Frenchman made a significant impression during his loan spell with the Eagles last season, with his performances in his eight appearances helping Palace to survive in the Premier League.

Speculation has continued over Palace signing him on a permanent basis all summer, but Liverpool's asking price of £30m has proved to be a stumbling block so far, with Eagles boss Frank de Boer recently admitting that the defender was too expensive for the south London side.

But recent reports suggested that Palace remain hopeful of striking a deal to sign the 27-year-old, who has also been linked with the Eagles' Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion.

And with Palace expected to be busy in the final few days of the summer transfer window, plenty of Eagles fans want to see the Frenchman arrive at Selhurst Park before the deadline.

Our Crystal Palace digital club writer Robert Warlow spoke to a few fans outside Selhurst Park on Saturday, and while a new goalkeeper and a striker were also high on the priority list for them, Sakho was the one name that kept cropping up.
