News: World experts to proffer solution to Nigeria's electricity problem


– Experts from across the world are expected to converge in Abuja to discuss Nigeria’s power problem
Nigeria’s power sector seems to be getting boost soon as 300 experts from America, Europe, Asia and Nigeria are expected to discuss the problem bedeviling the sector and proffer solution.
 The Punch reports that Powering Africa Nigeria which is based in London and is organising the summit revealed that it would take place in October in Abuja. This will be organised in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing headed by Babatunde Fashola. The summit has also been endorsed by the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission Bayelsa State Government, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, the Electricity Commission of Nigeria and the Transmission Company of Nigeria. In a statement released ahead of the summit, it was explained that Nigeria presented opportunities and the power sector has shown indication of development. “In the last 12 months, Nigeria’s electricity sector has been transformed with the arrival of Minister Babatunde Fashola, Minister for Power, Works and Housing. “The sector has been transformed by Fashola who has set out clearly his intention to break down the barriers to investment in the country’s energy sector.
